The nine servicemen captured by ISIS during the battle have yet to be released. After a five-day battle, the militants withdrew, taking 37 servicemen with them to the outskirts. The family of Ali Bazzal, another serviceman killed by Nusra last year, participated in Hamieh's funeral.
