Christian parties are responsible for finding common ground to salvage the country, former Kataeb chief Amin Gemayel said Tuesday after meeting with Change and Reform leader Michel Aoun.Gemayel underlined the importance of bilateral talks, in particular with FPM, Lebanese Forces and Marada Movement representatives.Marada leader MP Sleiman Frangieh has emerged as a strong candidate for the presidency after his meeting with Hariri in Paris last month. However, his presidential bid has been met with opposition from key Maronite parties including Kataeb, the LF and FPM. Gemayel challenged reports that Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai called for a meeting between key Maronite parties, saying he had not been informed of such a meeting.
