U.S. Charge d'Affaires Richard Jones announced $37.5 million in new funding for a scholarship program Thursday.AUB was founded in 1866 and collaborates with a number of American universities.Since USAID began the initiative in 2010, the program has provided nearly 1,000 scholarships for students to attend Lebanese universities such as AUB, the Lebanese American University, and Haigazian University.The new funding brings total U.S. investment in the scheme to nearly $100 million, and will benefit some 320 public school students.
