The Council of Maronite Bishops hailed Lebanese security forces for combating terrorism and warned against linking Lebanon to regional axes which contradicts the country's national coexistence pact.In a statement read Friday by the secretary of the Maronite patriarchate, priest Rafik al-Warsha, at the end of the council's monthly meeting, the bishops, led by Patriarch Beshara Rai, also deplored the persisting presidential deadlock which has left Lebanon without a head of state for the past nine months.
