BEIRUT: Two were seriously wounded in car explosion south of Tel Aviv, Israeli media reported Saturday evening.

Israeli daily Haaretz reported that two were seriously wounded in a car explosion in the settlement of Rehovot without further elaboration.

Tensions ran high earlier this week when Lebanese group Hezbollah targeted an Israeli military convoy in the occupied border area of the Shebaa Farms killing two Israeli soldiers. Hezbollah was retaliating for the assassination in January of 6 of its fighters and a senior Iranian military commander in Syria's Quneitra.
