Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt broached the idea of privatizing the Rafic Hariri International Airport Thursday, following a visit to Middle East Airlines' General Administration headquarters and a tour of the hub's facilities.Jumblatt and MP Ghazi Aridi inspected a number of MEA operations at the airport, at the invitation of company chairman Mohammad al-Hout. The MPs began their tour at the new cargo center, inaugurated in May. Jumblatt also suggested that an independent body be created, which could take full responsibility for the airport and its operation.
