Formed in February, the "Consultative Gathering" brought together former presidents Amine Gemayel and Michel Sleiman along with ministers Harb, Alice Shabtini, Ramzi Joreige, Alain Hakim, Abdul-Muttaleb Al-Hinawi, Sejaan Azzi, Samir Moqbel and Michel Pharaon.The Future Movement and ministers from the Consultative Gathering argue that an Army commander should only be appointed after the election of a president, who should have a say in the matter.A Lebanese Forces delegation handed Gemayel a copy of the declaration of intent which the group jointly announced with its rival the FPM earlier this week.Aoun and head of the LF Samir Geagea held a historic meeting Tuesday, after which the longtime rivals issued a declaration of intent calling for the election of a strong president, among other points of agreement.
