Aggravated by the latest aid cuts, Palestinian refugees protested outside the headquarters of the U.N. Relief and Works Agency Monday.Awwad was among dozens of Palestinian refugees from Syria residing in Lebanese camps who participated in the protests to decry the agency's latest reduction in services.UNRWA has had to cut back on certain assistance programs and services this year because of a severe fiscal deficit. The agency announced this month that the cash-for-rent assistance to Palestinian refugees from Syria would be suspended from the beginning of July.Awwad comes from the Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk and has been in Lebanon for three years.Abu Louay was protesting UNRWA's rent cuts and well as other services and described the situation in the camp as "dire".
