Several towns in the southern district of Nabatieh Tuesday staged a protest against a possible landfill opening in the area, the state-run National News Agency reported.The demonstrators shouted slogans against the opening of the landfill in the area, expressing solidarity with the municipality of Ansar, which rejected the establishment of a landfill.The trash crisis, which forced municipalities to dump garbage into valleys, streams and populated areas, sparked popular and political shows of defiance as local leaders refused to accept empty political promises.
