Sit-in near south Lebanon power plant to demand electricityThe We Want Accountability movement held a brief protest Saturday near the Jiyyeh power plant in south Lebanon, vowing to hold officials responsible for corruption and pollution, and to demand round the clock electricity. The movement said that the Jiyyeh power station is polluting the nearby areas, in particular the coastal Chouf villages in Iqlim al-Kharroub, denouncing the deprivation of the area from electricity.The campaign described the facility as a corruption hub.
