Over 500,000 cases of diabetes were reported in Lebanon in 2014 leading to more than 6,000 deaths, said the head of the International Diabetes Federation over the weekend.Quoting reports by the federation, Hirst said that over 1 billion individuals are expected to have diabetes by 2035 ."Because public health and safety were closest to his [Nazih Bizri] heart we have to commence medicinal and scientific endeavors that reflect his personality and role," said former Sidon Mayor Abdul-Rahman Bizri, son of the late minister. He is also the head of the Nazih Bizri Awards Committee for Diabetes.
