Lebanon protesters demand permanent electricity fixThe We Want Accountability campaign held a new protest Thursday outside Electricite du Liban's Beirut headquarters to demand round the clock power and reduced prices. Most residents of Lebanon pay two electricity bills, one to the state and another to the owners of private generators, as the country suffers from severe power cuts.Fayyad said that protesters began their protest by distributing flyers to EDL employees and people heading into the company, which read: "One electricity bill and not two ... those in charge are not paying and they have electricity for free ... Citizens pay two bills and have no electricity ... We demand an end to corruption in electricity sector ... We want electricity 24/7 ".One of the protesters complained that the electricity bills that are hindering his livelihood.
