Doomed to face floods every year at the start of winter, Lebanese in the capital and its suburbs were stranded in their vehicles when heavy rain fell for a short period Wednesday afternoon.Beirut's southern suburbs and the road to Rafik Hariri International Airport were the most affected, while numerous roads in Beirut were strangledwith traffic. Eleven car accidents took place as a result of Wednesday's showers, leading to one death and nine injuries, according to the Traffic Control Center.
