Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouk admitted in comments published Wednesday that minor mistakes were made by police during a crackdown on protesters who occupied the Environment Ministry for nine hours Tuesday.At least seven people were injured while demonstrators were being removed from the Environment Ministry and in the minor scuffles that erupted late Tuesday night between riot police and protesters, LRC chief George Kettani told The Daily Star.Machnouk's remarks came a day after some two dozen You Stink campaign protesters stormed the Environment Ministry headquarters in Downtown Beirut, trapping Minister Mohammad Machnouk in his office from 1 – 10 p.m. before riot police, using batons, cleared activists from the building.
