Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai called on anti-government protesters Friday to urge for the election of a president on the first day of his visit to Aley aimed at encouraging coexistence in the multi-sect district.Rai's three-day visit to Aley, where Druze and Christians coexist, comes on the 32nd anniversary of the so-called "War of the Mountain" which broke out in the Chouf between the Christian fighters of the Lebanese Forces against the Druze militia of the Progressive Socialist Party.Rai met in Aley with the spiritual leader of the Druze Sheikh Naim Hasan at his residence.Rai and Hasan both affirmed the dire need for Lebanon to elect a president.
