The head of Parliament's Media and Telecommunications Committee, MP Hassan Fadlallah, voiced solidarity Wednesday with the vice president of Al-Jadeed and journalist Karma al-Khayat.The STL announced Tuesday that the acquittal of Khayat and her employer on three counts of contempt of court will be appealed by amicus curiae prosecutor Kenneth Scott.Three of the four counts resulted in acquittal, but Khayat was found guilty of contempt for intentionally ignoring a court order requesting the removal of the offending episodes from the station's website. She was fined 10,000 euros ($11,260) at a hearing Monday, a markedly lighter sentence than the 100,000 euros and one-year imprisonment requested by Scott.
