Competition for the up-coming municipal election in Zahle increased Wednesday, as Popular Bloc head Myriam Skaff announced her intent to form an electoral list to challenge the mainstream Christian political forces.Citizens Within a State, an issue-based political reform party with links to ex-Labor Minister Charbel Nahas, also announced Wednesday that it intends to compete in the Zahle race.Skaff is the widow of former MP and Zahle leader Elias Skaff. A list backed by her late husband won the municipal elections of 2010 . Skaff also conveyed her willingness to work alongside Future Movement, Hezbollah and the Amal Movement during the municipal elections in Zahle.In Beirut, Citizens Within a State announced their candidates for Zahle, Beirut and Baalbek.Nahas and Ghada Yafi will be running for the Beirut municipal council while Elissar Samaha will be running in Zahle and Ali Ghassoub Haydar will be competing for a place on Baalbek's municipal council.
