Visiting French President Francois Hollande Saturday expressed solidarity with Lebanon in its ongoing battle against extremist militants, while pledging to bolster the country's defenses.Salam told the news conference that the two discussed the Syrian refugee crisis during their meeting, as well as cooperation between the two countries against terrorism.He described France as a "big friend of Lebanon," saying he thanked Hollande for his support to the country. Hollande earlier in the day met with Speaker Nabih Berri, who held an official ceremony at the Parliament's Nejmeh Square to welcome Hollande amid the absence of a head of state. Following the meeting, Hollande urged Lebanese lawmakers to elect a head of state as quickly as possible.
