Defense Minister Samir Moqbel met with Lebanese Army commander Gen. Jean Kahwagi Tuesday over security issues, one day after a roadside bomb wounded five soldiers on the northeastern border.The meeting between Moqbel and Kahwagi, which took place at the Defense Ministry near Beirut, precedes a possible extension of the army chief's term, which would be his second.Political and military sources told The Daily Star last week that they have acquired information indicating the term of Kahwagi will be extended for an additional year until September 2017 .
