Residents of southern Lebanon Friday entered the Israeli-occupied Shebaa Farms to raise their country's flag in protest of the construction of a road in the area for use by Israel's military.U.N. peacekeepers stationed along the border and the Lebanese and Israeli militaries went on high alert as the demonstrators crossed into the occupied territory.Around 500 Israeli troops deployed to an area about 3 kilometers away from the protesters, who raised a Lebanese flag on a barbed-wire fence and another on a hill. In June last year, a similar incident occurred when protesters raised a Lebanese flag on a barbed-wire fence to protest the construction of a new military road in the occupied territory.
