Hezbollah's Shariah Council head Sheikh Mohammad Yazbek Saturday criticized the Lebanese government over its silence on Israel's construction of a road in the occupied Shebaa Farms. In a speech at a ceremony for a Hezbollah fighter killed in Syria, Yazbek vowed to protect the people of southern Lebanon against "Israeli threats". The occupied Shebaa Farms are disputed territory between Lebanon and Syria, which Israel refused to relinquish during its May 2000 massive withdrawal from most of southern Lebanon.
