Prime Minister Tammam Salam will hold the Cabinet session as scheduled Thursday, defying a boycott of the Free Patriotic Movement's ministers and ignoring a Hezbollah request to have the session postponed in order to avoid a further split within an already-divided government.Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mohammad Fneish said he and his colleague Industry Minister Hussein Hajj Hasan, the two Hezbollah representatives in the Cabinet, would attend the session.Unlike the two Hezbollah ministers, Energy Minister Arthur Nazarian, the Tashnag Party's representative in the Cabinet, will show solidarity with the two boycotting FPM ministers, Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil and Education Minister Elias Bou Saab.Earlier in the day, Fneish met with Salam to convey to him a Hezbollah request to postpone the Cabinet session, but Salam was unyielding.Salam discussed the FPM boycott in separate meetings with Moqbel and Tourism Minister Michel Pharaon, who said he asked the premier to postpone the Cabinet session.
