Lebanese Army units launched raids in north Lebanon Monday in search of gunmen who opened fire on an Army post there Sunday night, killing one soldier and wounding another. The Army confirmed Mohammad later died of his injuries. A representative of Army commander Gen. Jean Kahwagi, Col. Tawfiq Yazbek, attended the funeral, along with officers and representatives of security and military forces, heads of unions and municipalities and other dignitaries.Yazbek vowed that the Army would remain vigilant in responding to any breach of security.Several politicians and religious figures condemned the attack, and expressed support for the Lebanese Army.
