BEIRUT: The following security developments took place across Lebanon Tuesday, with security forces continuing their crackdown following attacks on the Army over the weekend: A wanted Syrian national was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the November 2015 suicide bombing in Beirut's Burj al-Barajneh. The suspect, named only as A.M., was also accused of being affiliated with terrorist groups, a statement from General Security said Tuesday. The suspect was transferred to the relevant authorities while security forces pursue others suspected of involvement in the bombings. The Army arrested two suspects on arms charges in the northern towns of Minyeh and Beddawi in the Minyeh-Dinnieh region, a day after an Army soldier was killed and another wounded in an ambush on their outpost in the area. The Army released a statement saying a suspect, named as Bassam Taha, was arrested in Bhenin, near Minyeh, on arms charges.
