MP Sleiman Frangieh predicted after meeting Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri Wednesday night that a new government would be formed before the holiday season, while upholding his demand for a key ministerial portfolio.The Marada Movement leader rejected allegations that his party was obstructing the formation of a new government.The meeting with Frangieh was Hariri's latest attempt to remove obstacles hindering the formation of a new government.Hariri and Frangieh discussed latest political developments in the country, particularly consultations and efforts made to form the government, according to a statement released by Hariri's media office.Frangieh said neither Hariri, nor his allies, Speaker Nabih Berri and Hezbollah, would accept that the Marada Movement be excluded from the new government.Frangieh indirectly accused the Lebanese Forces of seeking to whittle down the Marada Movement by denying it a key ministerial portfolio in the government.Maronite Bishops said they were optimistic about Lebanon's future following the election of a president and called for a swift formation of a new government.
