Witness PRH395 testified Monday at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, answering questions from defense counsel on records of Salim Jamil Ayyash's alleged hajj pilgrimage in the month before the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.Much of the defense's questioning was geared toward ascertaining whether or not it would have been possible for Ayyash to have falsified his travel to Saudi Arabia – while still remaining in Lebanon.Defense Counselor Emile Aoun, representing the interests of Ayyash, attempted to contradict the prosecution's contention by presenting documentation of Ayyash's travel to Saudi Arabia, including Middle East Airlines passenger manifests and passport application forms. Aoun confirmed this in his questions.
