General Security announced Tuesday the detention of five Syrians, including a senior commander, for belonging to an extremist organization and forming a cell tasked with carrying out car bombings.In a deal negotiated by Qatari officials, Nusra freed 16 soldiers last December who had been kidnapped at the same time as nine other servicemen held by ISIS in August 2014, in exchange for Islamist prisoners.Two others, however, were killed by ISIS in order to pressure the Lebanese government into trading them for Islamist prisoners.
