The Free Patriotic Movement Tuesday reiterated its opposition to what it called "Christian political marginalization," an issue that took center stage earlier this month when a minister was accused of replacing a Christian staff member with a Muslim. The party has repeatedly complained over what it says is unfair treatment of Christians in the state, particularly when it comes to top Christian posts such as the presidency, or in administrative posts. The FPM voted against the extensions. The bloc says that Aoun is the most popular among Christians in Lebanon. The endorsement came after Future Movement leader Saad Hariri quietly endorsed Marada Movement head Sleiman Frangieh -- an FPM ally -- last year, dropping his support for his March 14 ally Geagea.
