Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah said Tuesday that his party would keep fighting in Syria as long as it was necessary in order to protect the resistance and the regime of President Bashar Assad.Nasrallah spoke via video link, addressing thousands of supporters and party officials who gathered at Sayyed al-Shuhada complex in the Beirut southern suburbs to mark the assassination of three top Hezbollah commanders. He said that both Turkey and Saudi Arabia's plans in Syria had failed, which prompted the latter to suggest sending Turkish and Saudi ground troops into Syria. Nasrallah warned Israel against launching a new war on Lebanon, saying the party had the capability to target any site in Israel.Nasrallah also accused Israel of seeking to exacerbate Sunni-Shiite tensions in the region to present itself as a friend to Sunni leaders in order to stand up to Iran.He said Israel considered it was presented with two opportunities and two threats: The first opportunity is to create a comfortable atmosphere for itself by making allies with Sunni Arab states, and the second is to change the regime in Syria.
