Billions of dollars in international aid are needed to support people caught up in the Syrian conflict but raising billions in financial support alone will not provide a long-term solution to this protracted humanitarian disaster.It is key to get the people of Syria believe that the conflict will get to an end.It committed to get 1 million children in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey into school and to increase access to learning opportunities for children inside Syria. The purpose as stated by the international community is to ensure there is "no lost generation". The European Investment Bank is to lend 12.5 billion euros ($14 billion) to Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt over the next five years to help provide jobs and opportunities to Syrian refugees.It is significant that the trend in both the Syria Donors Conference and the World Humanitarian Summit is to identify long-term solutions to the crisis by addressing longer-term needs such as creating jobs and providing education.Five years into the Syria conflict, Lebanon continues to host 1.5 million Syrian displaced. The 2016 plan proposes a $2.48 billion appeal plan to provide humanitarian assistance and protection to almost 2.8 million highly vulnerable individuals.
