The mayor of a Beirut suburb Thursday said all of the trash from Mount Lebanon's Metn district will be moved to a dumping ground in another suburb, which will then be used to create energy once a thermal plant is complete.Dikwaneh mayor Antoine Shakhtoura told Akhbar al-Yawm News Agency that all the trash, which has accumulated on the streets of Metn, will be moved to a 50,000 square meter plot of land in Burj Hammoud, just east of Beirut, where the waste will be packed. He said the waste will be used to produce energy once the construction on a waste-to-energy plant in the area is finished in six months.
