Lebanon's first day of the New Year was met with heavy rain and snowfall in the northern and eastern regions as storm Vladimir hit the country, leaving dozens of motorists stranded on icy roads and knocking power out to some areas.Snow covered regions in north Lebanon's Dinnieh district at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level as the state-run National News Agency reported that municipality snow-clearing vehicles were working on lifting snow off the roads.The Ehden-Bsharri and Zghorta-Ehden roads were completely blocked by snow.Snowfall was much heavier in eastern Lebanon, blocking roads in the Bekaa Valley and the eastern city of Zahle. Similarly, the Bsharri Cedar roads witnessed thick fog descending on the area, while the Ainata road was blocked with snow.
