Prime Minister Tammam Salam on Tuesday expressed hope that the executive and legislative branches of the government would begin to function properly in the new year, urging politicians to translate their words into actions."We have accomplished a lot and we hope to keep accomplishing more in the new year ... We hope that the country will rise again and continue on its democratic path in 2016," Salam told reporters from the Grand Serial. He added that the two years he has been premier have not been easy amid the presidential void, saying the government's job was to work harder during the vacuum.
