A gathering of prominent religious figures and politicians of the north called over the weekend for the abolishment of the Military Tribunal in light of its recent decision to release on bail a former minister accused of a terror plot.The Military Tribunal's decision angered mainly in the March 14 alliance which has backed Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi in his request to the Cabinet to transfer the retrial of Samaha from the Military Tribunal to the Judicial Council.Elsewhere in the country, March 14 youth organizations and the Progressive Socialist Party protested Samaha's release outside Beirut's Military Tribunal.Dozens of protesters holding Lebanese flags gathered outside the court in their continued efforts to press against the release of Samaha.
