Kataeb Party leader Sami Gemayel Monday said the next presidential election session was a chance for candidates to prove if they were worthy of heading the country. There are currently two main presidential candidates: Free Patriotic Movement founder Michel Aoun, supported by Hezbollah and the Lebanese Forces, and Marada Movement chief Sleiman Frangieh, backed by the Future Movement. In a speech last week, Gemayel said he would refuse to vote for a March 8 candidate, ruling out his party's backing of either Frangieh or Aoun, whose nominations sent shockwaves through the country's political spectrum.
