Over 100,000 deprived citizens will benefit from comprehensive primary health care as part of a pilot project launched Thursday, a step aimed at creating the foundations of a future universal health care system.The initiative will provide primary health care coverage to 150,000 citizens of limited income.Services will be provided through 75 primary health care centers, which have been selected according to the geographical location of the targeted groups.Other citizens seeking services from PHC centers are required to pay a minimal fee.The 75 centers will be provided with lists of individuals and families by the ministry in an attempt to attract those who would benefit, according to press materials.The campaign aims to encourage citizens and residents to visit health care centers, the fruit of efforts exerted by the ministry, alongside NGOs, and municipalities.
