Creatives of Lebanon was launched in Beirut Tuesday to provide a hub for small producers across Lebanon to showcase and sell their wares in a bid to stimulate the design economy.Speaking to a full house, Industry Minister Hussein Hajj Hasan applauded the project saying it was welcome in these difficult times for Lebanon and will help promote small businesses. Given the dire economic situation in the country, Creatives of Lebanon hopes to stimulate local, small scale producers from villages and towns across the country and help these designers and growers find markets. While the project isn't designed to be a fix all for Lebanon's flagging economy, if it can boost small businesses and offer real opportunity to the country's existing talent it could help offer real work to many.
