The head of Lebanon's Arab Tawhid Party Wiam Wahhab initially cheered on Turkey's coup leaders, but later questioned if it was staged by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to concentrate more power.Wahhab and many other officials who support the government in Damascus have accused Erdogan of backing extremist groups fighting in Syria, including ISIS.Hours later, after it became clear that the coup had failed, Wahhab questioned if it had been staged.Erdogan promised that the coup plotters will pay a "heavy price," accusing them of trying to kill him.
