Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rai Thursday visited the northeastern border town of Al-Qaa, which was targeted by eight suicide bombers last month.Upon his arrival, Rai was welcomed by a number of political, religious and local officials from the town and the Bekaa region. Rai called on the international community to work on finding solutions to end the region's conflicts, such as in Iraq, Syria and Palestine. He added that these wars were having repercussions on Lebanon, especially its border towns such as Al-Qaa. Rai later visited Oyoun Orghosh in the Baalbek-Hermel region, to which Al-Qaa belongs, where he went to lay the foundation stones of a sports center and the summer residence of the Maronite Diocese of Baalbek and Deir al-Ahmar.
