Prosecution witness Gary Platt, an investigator with expertise on covert cellular networks, returned to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon Tuesday to give further testimony. Platt's testimony pertains primarily to the cellular networks, identified by colors, allegedly used by the five defendants – all members of Hezbollah – and their co-conspirators to orchestrate and carry out the attack that killed former premier Rafik Hariri in Beirut in February 2005 .Three other key signs according to Platt were maintaining handsets despite long periods of inactivity, the simultaneous cessation of two groups of phones – one of which went black immediately after the assassination following a flurry of activity before the blast – and the amount of money left on the phones when usage stopped.Mettraux will continue his examination of Platt Wednesday.
