Minor Omar Mikati confessed Wednesday to fatally killing Internal Security Forces 1st Sgt.At the beginning Mikati tried to reduce the severity of his charges and when asked about claims that he hit and tortured hostage military officers he was guarding for Daesh (ISIS) on the northeastern border, Mikati denied the act.Slain Lebanese soldier Medlej was killed by a Daesh member in 2014 in the northeastern border with Syria where extremist militants are entrenched.The group still holds nine servicemen hostage after they were captured when Daesh overran the boarder town of Arsal in August 2014 .Omar's father Ahmad Mikati denied giving the young men religious lessons in Tripoli, although he defended Daesh and refused to use the pejorative term for the group.The Military Tribunal also listened to other suspects.After the session was adjourned Mikati was allowed to see his father for five minutes.
