Future Movement leader and former Prime Minister Saad Hariri Thursday said he is ready to be held responsible for municipal election results, warning against attempts to damage Lebanon's relationship with Saudi Arabia. However, resigned Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi unexpectedly beat an electoral list backed by Hariri in the Tripoli municipal elections on May 29, dealing a heavy blow to the political class that has traditionally controlled the city and forcing a reevaluation of the status quo.Hariri underlined the importance of coexistence and equality between Lebanese factions.Rifi had recently called on Hariri to return to the path of his father Rafik Hariri, who was assassinated in 2005, announcing that he will establish new political movement after a falling out with the Future Movement.Hariri remained mum after Machnouk's remarks.
