Economy Minister Alain Hakim, also from the Kataeb Party, withdrew from the meeting as well.Information Minister Ramzi Joreige, who is also a Kataeb minister, didn't leave the session as per a request from Prime Minister Tammam Salam, but expressed an opinion similar to his colleagues. Sources told The Daily Star that the Kataeb ministers expressed their opposition to the poor sorting of the garbage, while the Beirut Municipality withdrew from the scheme.Before the session began, there were clear divisions between parties and ministers over the Janna Dam in Jbeil.The government avoided discussing the controversial issue Thursday.Kataeb Party leader Sami Gemayel staunchly rejected the dam in a news conference held after the Cabinet session ended. Gemayel addressed the trash issue and the reason behind the protest his ministers showed in Cabinet.
