The Council for Development and Reconstruction Friday denied that rubbish will be buried without treatment under the new trash plan, one day after Kataeb ministers stormed out of a Cabinet session to protest the issue. The statement added that only the tenders related to sweeping, collecting, sorting and treating waste have so far been announced, and that the other tenders will be announced in the coming days. The CDR's statement comes one day after the government agreed to their request to award a company the contract to conduct marine protection works, treat the current pile up of trash in the Burj Hammoud dump and establish and operate the temporary sanitary landfill there.
