The Health Ministry referred a food poisoning case to the judiciary over the weekend, following the death of a boy in a north Lebanon hospital.The statement explained that the Khalaf family were believed to have eaten kafta Thursday from the Ayman Yamani butcher's shop in Abdeh, Akkar, followed by ice cream.The ministry's statement added that the family didn't initially realize the severity of the sickness.Health Minister Wael Abu Faour started a food safety campaign in November 2014, that targeted restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, slaughterhouses, and other food establishments in an attempt to ensure food safety.
