Residents of a Mount Lebanon region protested for a second day Monday against a proposal to open a landfill near their homes.Labor Minister Sejaan Azzi Sunday, however, told Al-Jadeed TV that ministers had agreed on different locations for the proposed landfills, none of which are in the Chouf region's sub-district of Iqlim al-Kharoub.Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt, also a Chouf MP, denied news on Monday that there were plans to open a landfill in the Iqlim al-Kharoub region.The dump in Karantina, close to the Beirut Port, was opened as a temporarily location for Beirut's garbage.
