Details of the events leading up to Mrowa's assassination can be found at an exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of his death, marked on May 16 .The "Kamel Mrowa 50th Commemoration: A Life in Pictures" exhibition, organized by the Kamel Mrowa Foundation, was officially launched Thursday in the Beirut Souks in the presence of journalists, officials and Mrowa's children. Two internal exhibitions recall Mrowa's life, while an outdoor exhibit displays front pages of Al-Hayat reproduced on large panels along with advertisements and events that evoke Lebanon's golden age.The internal exhibition celebrates Mrowa's life, and traces his path to becoming one of the Arab World's leading figures in journalism. Mrowa has been called the father of modern Arab journalism. The exhibition draws particular attention to a major event in Mrowa's life: his founding of the Al-Hayat newspaper in 1946 .Mrowa founded The Daily Star in 1952 .
