The Economy Ministry has banned 19 brands of labneh and five brands of cheese, media reported Wednesday. When contacted by The Daily Star, a ministry spokesperson said a list of the blacklisted dairy companies had been leaked, thus acknowledging its authenticity, but would not provide more details in the case. Names of two labneh companies are missing from the published list, which has been reproduced in English by The Daily Star below. The economy and health ministries have been cracking down on unsanitary food, water, cosmetic and other establishments across the country since November 2014 .
