Brazil Wednesday pledged to offer Lebanon further military aid, following the Brazilian president's reiteration of the importance of the Lebanese diaspora in Brazil. The pledge is part of a larger endeavor to fortify ties between the two countries, according to Brazil's Defense Minister Raul Jungmann who met with caretaker Defense Minister Samir Moqbel Wednesday.Current Brazilian President Michel Temer has Lebanese ties, having been born into a Catholic family who immigrated to Brazil from Lebanon in the 1920s.
