The Special Tribunal for Lebanon will maintain an active role in the country and assist Lebanese youth and experts, court President Judge Ivana Hrdlickova said Friday as she concluded a visit to the country. "The STL will continue to play a role in Lebanon's future, giving Lebanese youth and experts the opportunity to build on its achievements," she said in a statement following an annual visit to Lebanon. During her four-day visit, the judge met with Lebanese government officials as well as members of the local legal and academic communities. Hrdlickova, originally from the Czech Republic, also serves as a legal expert in the Council of Europe. Her visit concludes the annual STL president mission to Lebanon.
